So for a ₹5500/- shoe that gives you 600 wears, cost-per-wear = 5500/600 = approx 9
Compare that with a ₹1000/- shoe that gets ragged in 100 wears, cost-per-wear = 1000/100 = 10
For almost the same CPW, you are getting a shoe that looks better, feels better, and stays that way for a long time.
Now a lower cost per wear does not justify mindless shopping; you still need to be able to afford the higher initial cost. It can, however, help you with making smart choices the next time you’re looking for a pair of shoes.
